I've never visited your church before. What should I wear the first time I visit?
You wear what is comfortable. We aren't formal on Sunday mornings, but we do try to dress as appropriately as we can.
We're not going to judge you based on what you're wearing, so don't let that ever be a fear or concern.
What should I expect when I arrive for the worship service?
First of all, we have parking spaces for visitors right in front of our building so you won't have to drive around
looking for a spot. We even have a covered driveway at the front door in case it's raining where you can pull in
and drop off the family or even pull in, get out, and let us park the car! After that, you can relax for a bit in
our living-room-style foyer or you can make your way into our auditorium where you can catch up on the
latest activity by watching our weekly video of announcements and things you need to know
at FBC Gore. Once the service starts, we open with a song from our choir followed by announcements and
greeting before settling into a time of praise & worship using a piano, organ, and occasionally a lead & bass
guitar. Our sermons include videos and practical application of the Bible to make you a better student
and follower of Jesus Christ.
Do you have Sunday School classes or small groups that I can participate in?
We like to think that our Sunday School classes function as small groups in that they incorporate solid biblical teaching
as well as care for those who are in the class. Our classes are led by great leaders who are examples of godly
husbands, fathers, and disciples. Our children's groups, which are also at 9:45 a.m., are in our fellowship building
and we have groups available for every age from two weeks to twelve years (the nursery is located in the main
building to the right of the auditorium). Student groups also meet during this time on the second floor of the
fellowship building.
I really felt like I needed to make a decision on Sunday, but I was nervous about coming down front.
Is there anyone I can talk to?
We want decisions that you make in your walk with Christ--whether it's the decision to accept Him as Savior or
a decision to serve somewhere in the church--to be as simple as possible. While we normally offer a time of
response following each worship service, our pastor and deacons are available for 15 minutes after each
worship service to visit with you and answer any questions you might have about God, faith, or the church.
It all comes down to the fact that we want you to experience God and we want to help you do that at your pace.
